Help & support

Clear answers about shared records, acknowledgements, returns and getting support.

What is available in this environment?

You can try the case workflows and reports here. Some commercial, identity-verification and automated decision features are not available. Use sample information only while testing.

When does the sample reset?

Alex and Jamie’s sample cases reset daily at 4:00 am Singapore time. The reset restores their shared sample case; cases involving other accounts are preserved.

Is CheckAndSnap free?

Private evidence is not shown to support by default. A participant can choose whether to grant explicitly scoped, time-limited access from the case's Help & reports tab. Access is logged.

Using CheckAndSnap

How to read a case

Provider and Receiver are roles for this case: the Provider lends or hands over; the Receiver borrows or receives. Both people can contribute their own observations to the same record.

  1. Preparation

Set up the case and checklist, identify the item or space, add participants and the expected return details, then capture initial checks and photos.

  2. Handover

Review the saved handover. Both participants acknowledge the same version to freeze it as the baseline. Until then, each person may still add or revise their own contributions.

  3. In use

The frozen handover stays as the comparison baseline while the item or space is in use. The case shows its expected return date.

  4. Return

Record fresh return checks and photos, compare them with the handover baseline, then have both participants review the saved return version.

Condition badges

When filled in, appearance badges show Good, Worn, Damaged or Not applicable. Function badges show Working, Not working, Not tested or Not applicable. They report what participants recorded, not an automatic inspection result.

Return comparison columns

On the return review, the two columns show the frozen Handover version and the current Return version for the same checklist items.

Names and times

Saved checks and observations show who recorded them and when. Photos identify their uploader; a device capture time may also be shown, but is not independently verified.

Versions and acknowledgements

A version number identifies a saved revision of the Handover or Return stage. An acknowledgement records that one participant reviewed that exact version; it does not mean every observation is agreed or that the item is undamaged. A later edit needs fresh acknowledgements.

Observations and changes

Add an attributed observation to record your perspective; it appears alongside the saved check instead of replacing the other participant's words. A saved edit creates a new version. A check saved by the other participant is read-only to you, so add your observation or request a change.

Using a case

How do I create a shared record?

Create a case, choose a checklist, identify the item or space, then add the participants and expected return details. Capture photos and observations, invite the other person, and review the saved version together.

Can I make a checklist for something else?

Yes. You can start with a personal checklist for a different item or handover.

What does an acknowledgement mean?

It records that a participant acknowledged a specific saved stage and version. It includes any different observations shown in that version. It is not a statement that the item is undamaged, and no response is not agreement.

What if we disagree about a condition?

Add an attributed observation or request a change. A saved edit creates a new version. Both people can acknowledge the same version while it still shows different observations.

How is the handover used at return?

The acknowledged handover version is frozen as the baseline. Start a return from the case, add fresh evidence, and compare those observations against the baseline. Both participants review the saved return version.

My photo did not upload. What should I do?

Keep the capture page open and retry the original photo upload. A selected or failed photo is not submitted evidence. JPG, PNG and WebP files up to 10 MB are supported.

Does CheckAndSnap decide who caused damage?

No. It keeps participants' saved observations and the return comparison together. It does not assign blame or guarantee a legal outcome.
